Firewood Delivery – Buyer’s Information Guide
Woodland and Forestry Ltd trading as Firewood Uttoxeter serving Uttoxeter and surrounding area.
This guide sets out what to expect when ordering firewood from Firewood Uttoxeter online. It is designed to act as an information guide helping ensure a smooth ordering and delivery process for all customers.
- Ordering Online – What Happens Next
Online ordering is new for us, and we aim to make the process as clear and personal as possible.
- Once you place a Buy It Now order through our website, your order will be reviewed the same day.
- For orders placed before 5:00pm, we will normally respond that evening to confirm receipt of your order and arrange a convenient delivery date and time.
- Orders placed after 5:00pm will be processed the next working day.
Placing an order does not automatically fix a delivery time. Delivery is arranged directly with you to ensure access and timing are suitable.
- Delivery Timescales
- For in‑stock products, delivery is usually arranged within 2–3 working days of your order being accepted.
- During busy periods (such as autumn and winter), delivery may take up to 7 days.
- We will always aim to deliver as promptly as possible and keep you informed of any delays.
- Delivery Method and Vehicle Access
Our firewood is delivered using a vehicle and tipping trailer.
- Standard delivery is a loose tipped pile of firewood.
- We require sufficient space to safely reverse onto your driveway or agreed delivery area.
- Deliveries will be made where normal vehicular access allows.
If access is restricted, narrow, steep, soft, or unsuitable for our vehicle and trailer, delivery may not be possible to your preferred location.
- Barrow & Tip / Barrow & Stack Services
If you require your firewood to be moved beyond the tipping point or stacked, this must be arranged in advance.
- Barrow & Tip and Barrow & Stack services must be booked prior to delivery.
- These services must be added at checkout when purchasing firewood products that require stacking or barrowing.
- Our drivers cannot provide stacking or barrowing services unless they have been pre‑booked online.
If these services are not added at the time of purchase, the delivery will default to a loose tip only.
- Delivery Location and Customer Responsibility
- Firewood will normally be tipped in a single loose pile in the agreed location.
- Requests to deliver beyond the main driveway, onto lawns, gravel, uneven ground, or other non‑standard areas are:
- At the homeowner’s risk, and
- At the discretion of the driver on the day.
We reserve the right to refuse delivery to any area that we consider unsafe or likely to cause damage.
- Damage and Liability
- While we take care during delivery, Firewood Uttoxeter cannot accept liability for damage to driveways, surfaces, edging, walls, lawns, drains, or underground services arising from delivery.
- It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that access is suitable for a delivery vehicle and tipping trailer.
If you have any concerns about access or ground conditions, please contact us before ordering so we can advise.
- Summary – Before You Order
Before placing your order, please ensure that:
- You have adequate vehicle access for a vehicle & tipping trailer.
- You have selected Barrow & Tip or Barrow & Stack if required.
- You understand that delivery times are arranged after ordering and may vary during busy periods.
If you are unsure about any aspect of delivery, access, or services, we are always happy to discuss your requirements prior to purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions
What types of firewood do you sell?
We supply kiln dried hardwood logs, softwood kindling (recycled untreated pallets), natural firelighters, and smokeless solid fuel. Logs come in a range of sizes, short logs for small stoves, chunky logs for big burners, and even “odds & ends” for fire pits and chimineas.
How is your wood prepared?
- Premium kiln-dried hardwood, under 20% moisture, guaranteed for immediate use.
- Naturally air-dried seasoned hardwood (ready from August).
- Fresh cut (April–May) and part-seasoned (June–July) for customers who want to dry/store themselves.
Is your firewood sustainable?
Yes. All our timber is sourced from FSC-certified, sustainably managed UK woodland. Firewood is carbon neutral, it releases the same carbon when burnt as if left to rot naturally.
Do you guarantee your wood is dry?
Absolutely. We kiln dry and check moisture levels regularly and stand by our word: if we say it’s dry, it’s dry.
What do customers say about you?
Our customers love the quality and consistency of our logs, our flexibility with delivery, and the friendly, personal service. Many come to us through recommendations, and they stay.
What if there’s an issue with my order?
Just let us know and we’ll make it right. We’re working on a formal complaints policy for Woodsure certification, but our approach is simple: fix it straight away.
